Transporting sugar beet with moving floor trailers offers many advantages

In most European countries, the sugar beet campaign came to an end again in recent weeks. In the Netherlands alone, a total of 68,000 tons of sugar beet were processed daily. The campaign is a peak time for companies involved in sugar beet transport: the harvested beets are transported from the fields to the sugar factories 24 hours a day, 6.5 days a week in a process that often involves two, or even three, drivers per truck.

A trend apparent in beet transport in Europe is that growing numbers of carriers are switching from tippers to moving floor trailers. The Netherlands is leading the way, but the trend is gaining momentum in other European countries too. And, when you weigh up the advantages, it's a logical move.
